TEKDOG AGGREGATE FUNCTION
The TekDog Aggregate function is intended to be used with the TekDog Subform Control. It provides the ability to complete math functions on the list columns from your child data set. These functions include Average, Count, Maximum, Minimum, Standard Deviation, Sum and Variance. Before you can configure this control, you will need to have a Subform Control on your form with a field that can be operated against (Number, Currency).
Please refer to the following article to setup a TekDog Subform Control: Subform Control FAQ
STEP 1: DESIGN YOUR FORM AND LISTS.
(Refer to the article above if you need help understanding the Subform Control.)
STEP 2: DELETE THE CONTROL FROM OUR FORM.
In our example, we have a field on our parent record called "ExpensesTotal" which we will want to bind our Aggregate Control to. We need to delete this control from our form. We will select the control and delete it. (See below) We will replace this control with the Aggregate Control shortly.
The control will then be deleted.
STEP 3: ADD TEKDOG AGGREGATE CONTROL
Navigate to your Form Controls and Select TekDog Controls. Select the Aggregate Control and drag and drop the control onto your canvas. (See below).
STEP 4: CONFIGURE THE CONTROL
Configure the control by double-clicking on the control. Name the control according to Nintex best practices.
STEP 5: BIND THE CONTROL
Bind the control to the field you would like the aggregate to save the value to. In our example, we want to bind the value to ExpenseTotal in the 'Connected to' field.
STEP 6: TYPE IN THE LIST NAME
Type in the name of the list of your child record set for your Subform. You MUST type it in, you cannot select a dynamic value. In our example, our Expenses are stored in a list called "Expenses".
STEP 7: SELECT THE FUNCTION
In the "Type" box, select the function you would like to use. In our example, we will use the SUM function.
STEP 8: SAVE & PUBLISH YOUR FORM
Save your control and publish your form. You are now rocking the TekDog Aggregate Function like a boss! Good job!
